In addiction recovery, Serenity is of the most value.

With serenity, we find contented recovery. With contentment, we find joy through helping God and others.

Addictions, mood-altering chemicals, deprive us of this connection.

Love and Peace,

The healthy recovering person learns to value spiritual things, then self, then family.

God,  Recovery, and Self become the same as fear lessens. Then we can give to others.

Recovery from Drug/Alcohol Addiction - Parents and Spouse create change, not more drugs.

Loved ones are the best ones to influence addicts and alcoholics. Love and limit setting can wake up an addict. This is easier than it seems. Real love for self leads to power to help others.

My recovery world with its support helps me conform to recovery ways.

In my earlier days, we called ourselves non-conformists. Every generation individuates in its own way. When I was struck sober and clean, I liked helping to contribute without insisting on having my way.

Get sober and clean, still work and be with your family.

We must adapt to the world of beer commercials, movies with drugs and alcohol abuse and liquor, beer signs all over town. Start getting used to this and have a Program to help you through the tough times.

Addiction Treatment - Keep Trying!!!

Never give up. Make a decision that you will get sober and clean. Sometimes, when there is resistance, you simply have to do the best that you can until you are ready to be coached.

Do not be ashamed of your addiction/alcoholism or your addict/alcoholic.

No one asks for addiction/alcoholism. We do not put this n our career goal list. What is important is to work on the solution. Go to Meetings to learn how.

Addiction eventually involves using to get relief from the problems caused by using.

Some people use because they need relief from abuse issues, loss... However, they will seek other means to cope when the drugs and/or alcohol no longer work. They will stop! The addict/alcoholic cannot unless he or she enters recovery.

There is no magic pill to help with years of built up guilt. shame. anger, fear and sadness let alone the shock of waking up to find you have these feelings. Recovery means much work. It is worth it and easier than the slow death of addiction.

Trust the recovery from addiction process!

Drug/alcohol abusers quit drugs and alcohol. Addicts do not. Get an accurate diagnosis.

When abusive drug/alcohol use creates consequences, the abuser quits because it is not relieving pain. The addict keeps abusing because of loss of control and cravings. This information will give you a start on how to treat the problem.

Addiction Recovery Programs should have integrity.

When choosing a recovery program, look for an 'abstinence from all mood-altering chemicals' rule. Otherwise, it is not an abstinence recovery program.

The family is the motivator. The secret to successful addiction recovery is to motivate the addict/alcoholic to desire help.
