Hope springs eternal - Alexander Pope, 1732.

'If I can get sober and clean, anyone can.' I have heard hundreds of addicts/alcoholics say this. No matter the drug, cocaine, opiates, alcohol, cannabis, crystal meth, crack, benzos... there is a way out that I have found.

There is HOPE for the suffering addict/alcoholic. Hope leads to faith and faith leads to recovery.

We merely must do what successful recovering people have done. There are millions of them available to help you. Just ask! You will find hope and a home.

Have a safe and happy journey,

Treatment for addiction is different than traditional treatment for 'people problems.'

Addicts/alcoholics are usually preoccupied with their fears and complaints. We mistakenly get diagnosed with anxiety disorder because of this. Over the past 31 years,I have seen hundreds of addicts/alcoholics stop shaking after participating in twelve-step meetings for just one or two months.

We need to get out of ourselves and not focus more on self. Our chief problem is worry over self. It's wonderful to know that we don't have to do this anymore.

'Our very survival depends upon constant thought of others' (AA book, 1928).

Addicts/alcoholics need to think of others more and self less. Balance is the KEY to the door of recovery!

Have a safe and happy journey,

Addiction recovery is highly treatable without drugs. Get the family involved!!!

When properly educated, empowered and inspired, the family can bring their loved one to treatment.

When loved ones cease to shield him or her from the consequences, the addict/alcoholic becomes motivated to recover. The pain and loss are the answer and can lead to recovery.

Addiction recovery is a joy; so much better than intoxication and failure.

Most of us get sober and clean and wonder if we can ever experience happiness again. Once we are sober long enough and have heard dozens of peers say that this is a great way of life, we begin to see it also. Then we feel t!

Lasting recovery begins with surrender due to severe pain and loss.

When enablers stop 'helping,' the problems can be perceived and felt. Then the addict/alcoholic has a chance to become desperate and seek help. When given shelter, food or a hospital bed for using drugs and/or alcohol, the problem gets worse. The addict/alcoholic is more convinced of his innocence and the desire to use becomes greater.

We shield addicts from the consequences with excuses for them and other drug use.

An addict/alcoholic cannot get sober and clean unless he or she connects the problems to the substance abuse

Good recovery requires commitment, not just involvement. #addiction

Commitment can be inspiring, a challenge that uses all of the will power and drive that is left to take recovery actions.Mostly, it takes surrender.

Do not debate with an alcohol or drug abuser if he does not want help. #addiction

Always ask the question, "Do you want help?" If you are talking to a loved one ask, "Does he want help?"

Think of our children and not self when deciding to legalize cannabis!

Cannabis impairs short term memory and creates difficulty with thinking abilities (Anderson BM, et. al,, 20110; Boyce A, et. a.. 2008).

Do you wants your children to be handicapped?
