You can get your loved one sober and clean!!!

With the right coaching, it is possible to iinfluence a family member and leverage him or her into treatment that works.  However, you must stay iinvolved with any supportive family members who will participate in treatment of the family.

Helping a Loved One get Sober and/or Clean - Step One.

First, stabilize the family. Make sure that you and your family members let go of built up frustrations and fears.  The addict will look for a reason to blame you. If you express negativity toward him or her, you will sabotage any attempt at intervention.

Children always know that their alcoholic father is more in love with the bottle than them.

Addiction affects family members in ways the alcoholic can't see.  He is to consumed with self.  There is much work to do in reconstructing the family. Abstinence is but the beginning.
